Supplemental Insurance for the workplace

No one likes to think they could develop a disability. But consider this: Every two seconds, someone is injured in an accident.1 Over your employees’ working years, they’ve got a one in three chance of becoming disabled.2

Where Other Coverages Fall Short
If a disability happens, your employees can’t always rely on Worker’s Compensation or Social Security. Moreover, 75% of disabling injuries happen outside of work, where your employees are not covered by you, their employer.3   And, only a third of people who apply for Social Security disability benefits are approved.4

Not everyone has a financial cushion for an unexpected disability however, they can begin planning for it now. Disability Income Insurance can help your employees make ends meet if they get hurt or sick and can’t earn a regular paycheck. This means their families can still live life as usual until the employees are back at work. This helps protect their families’ financial security and hard-earned savings.

Disability Income Insurance works in conjunction with any other health insurance employees have individually, or through you, as their employer. They can use this policy on its own or to cover them where their other policies leave off.

What’s Included with this Coverage
Disability Income Insurance can give your employees a source of income when they’re unable to work in their own occupation because of an injury or illness. (An employee's "own occupation" is their job at the time of a disability.) They can pick the policy details and amounts that work best for their budget and cost of living needs.

  • Monthly payment amount they choose, from $400 to $3,000—up to 60% of their income
  • Benefit period choice of 3, 6, 4 and 24 months
  • Their choice of time periods (elimination periods) that must pass before benefits start: (Illness/Accident) 0/7, 7/7, 0/14, 14/14, 30/30, 90/90 and 180/180
  • Affordable rates, premiums subject to change by class; guaranteed renewable until your employees turn 70
