Commercial Auto

When you think about what keeps your business moving, your commercial vehicles more than likely provide an indispensable link in either getting your products to the market or delivering your services. Without them, your daily operations could come to a halt. When your vehicles are down, your business isn’t up.

But insuring your vehicles helps protect you for much more than just lost productivity. When evaluating your options, keep in mind that your business could suffer severe financial problems if the vehicles used in it aren’t properly insured. If an accident occurs, your business may be held liable. You may be required to pay for damages to another vehicle or to someone’s property, and any medical bills if someone is injured from an accident involving your commercial vehicles.

On the Road Again
How do you know if you’re adequately covered for these risks or others, like uninsured drivers, hit-and-runs or an on-site accident that injures your own employees? That’s where I can help. As your Burnette Insurance Services agent, I can explain the coverage options, limits and deductibles that work with your business’s bottom line.

In addition to competitively-priced policies, you can also choose an easy payment plan, so you can “pay as you drive” and still get the protection you need for you and your employees. Protect Yourself, Your Employees and Others

Coverage Description
Bodily Injury
Liability Coverage
If you or your company are responsible for injuring someone in an accident, you may be liable for, among other things, the costs of their medical treatment, lost wages, pain and suffering. Bodily Injury Liability Coverage provides protection for damages you're legally obligated to pay because of injuries you cause to others in a covered accident. This coverage also provides for legal costs associated with defending claims and lawsuits against you or your company, that arise out of accidents for which you may be liable.
Property Damage
Liability Coverage
When accidents happen, insurance does more than protect your automobile; it also protects your assets and provides you with financial protection from lawsuits. Property Damage Liability Coverage provides protection for damages you're legally obligated to pay because of damage you cause to the property of others in a covered accident.
Medical Payments Coverage 1. If you or an employee driving one of your work vehicles were injured, could you afford to pay the medical expenses? Medical Payments Coverage provides payment for the reasonable and necessary medical treatments you or your employees incur as a result of a covered accident.
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage 1. 2. If you or your employees were injured in an automobile accident by a negligent uninsured driver, would you want some help meeting your medical expenses and financial obligations? Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury Coverage provides protection if you or your employees are injured in a covered accident caused by a negligent uninsured driver.

1. For sole proprietorships, this coverage may be extended to your family by including them on your policy.
2. For partnerships and corporations, this coverage extends to anyone occupying your covered vehicles.

Protect your Commercial Automobiles

Coverage Description
Collision Coverage Your commercial vehicles are part of what generates your business’ bottom line. Insuring them against collision helps keep your business in safe operating condition, too. Collision Coverage pays for damage caused to your commercial vehicle resulting from a covered accident with another car, or a covered collision with most anything else (such as a tree).
Comprehensive Coverage Accidents happen—and they’re not always the result of a collision with another vehicle. Comprehensive Coverage pays for damage to your commercial vehicles for covered losses not caused by collision or from the auto being overturned. This may include, among other things, fire, theft, hail, flood or vandalism.

Additional Optional Coverages to Protect Your Assets

Coverage Description
Rental Reimbursement Coverage Your business operations shouldn’t have to be unnecessarily interrupted by having a vehicle in the shop, after a covered loss, when you don’t have any spare or reserve autos available to you. Rental Reimbursement Coverage is an optional coverage that reimburses your business for the cost of renting vehicles from a rental agency or garage, up to the dollar amount limit per day shown on your commercial auto policy.
Towing and Labor Costs Coverage Does your business rely on the transportation of goods or services? Towing and Labor Costs Coverage pays for your necessary towing charges, up to the dollar amount shown on your commercial auto policy, should your commercial private passenger vehicle become disabled.
Non-Owned Auto Liability Coverage Did you know that you and your company may be held liable if an employee gets into an accident when they’re using their own vehicle for business purposes? Non-Owned Auto Liability Coverage provides liability protection for injuries or damages that your employees are responsible for if they get into an auto accident involving their own vehicle while they are “on the clock."
Hired Auto Coverages If you periodically rent vehicles for work, do you have the reassurance that you and your company are protected if those vehicles were involved in an accident?  Hired Auto Liability Coverage provides liability protection for you, as the business owner, when you rent vehicles for use in your business on a short-term basis. For an added level of protection, you may also consider Hired Auto Physical Damage Coverage, which provides comprehensive and collision physical damage protection to the vehicles you rent on a short-term basis.
Drive Other Car Coverage If you or your employees rent private passenger cars on a short-term basis in the name of an individual, would you or they have liability and physical damage coverage for the rented vehicles?  Drive Other Car Coverage provides such protection, even when there’s no personal auto liability policy in force
